We only lived in Austin for a year, but the experience was good and I met some very nice people.

We leased a penthouse at the Towers of Town Lake, which overlooks Town Lake (now Lady Bird Lake). It was nice being able to walk out of the building and instantly be on the bike and running path that went completely around the Lake. I wanted to live in Austin for two reasons; it’s close to my family in Houston and it’s known as an entertainment center with a very strong music scene.

One of the fun things we did while living there was take sculling lessons at the Austin Rowing Club.
